Craig L. Venokur, CPA
After nearly 20 years as a CPA, doing taxes can still feel like a challenging scavenger hunt. The numbers tell a story and I like to find out what it is.
Business has been part of Craig Venokur’s life from an early age. Working in various family enterprises, Craig acquired a deep understanding of business objectives, processes and cycles. By the time he was 16, Craig had fallen in love with accounting. He was fascinated not so much by the numbers, but by the story they tell – and the implications of that story for business operations and strategies.
As a partner at Adelman Katz & Mond LLP, Craig works proactively with clients, maintaining contact throughout the year. Most of his best clients can run – and read – their own financial statements, but they rely on Craig as an advisor to help them plan ahead and make key decisions for their businesses and their families. Time and again, he has been instrumental in helping businesses reduce operating costs. He is also well-versed in assisting clients in the creation and use of electronic records-keeping systems, particularly QuickBooks™.
Craig’s business clients are drawn from a broad range of industries, including real estate, food service, medical and legal. They include both start ups and established firms. Craig also works with nonprofits, individuals and families. Many of his clients have a presence in multiple states, and Craig handles the associated multi-faceted tax strategies and complex filings. He is also adept at assisting clients through audits, possessing encyclopedic knowledge of regulations and rulings and an ability to present a persuasive case.
